I have one simple goal, to help you reach your objectives. You will get introduced to coaches who have their process, their program, their style. That may work for them. What has worked for my clients over the past fifteen years is benefiting from a coaching and development program that is designed specifically for them.
The process that I leverage has six phases:
2. Leveraging the perspective of others
Depending on your objectives it may be helpful to gain perspective to others that you work closely with. We review 360 data, client survey reports and any other information that will help us understand you and your goals.
3. Determining success criteria
We will collaborate on definition of success. This will help us not only measure progress but as importantly — celebrate your success.
4. Developing the plan
We will collaborate on a plan to help you accomplish your goals. Some coaching engagements are finite — others are open ended — it’s up to you and your goals.
5. Working the plan
Based on Phase 4, we will work the plan with key deliverables to help you accomplish your goals.
6. Concluding the engagement
Once the coaching engagement has concluded, we will have a formal wrap up. You may involve others in this final session (eg: your leader or a trusted advisor to you).
Many clients appreciate ongoing check-in/check-up sessions. These can be formal or ad hoc – your objectives will determine how we design future work. And through it all, my goal is a process for you to enjoy a supportive experience that is all about you.
